What the service covers
For a straightforward domestic beam, the engineering scope can include member sizing, resistance and deflection checks, support reactions, and minimum bearing requirements. Where the support condition requires it, a separate bearing or padstone design can be included.
What you need to send
Online design starts only after we receive a dimensioned plan or sketch, clear photographs of the affected structure, and the principal opening/span dimensions. We may request floor or roof spans, wall construction, storeys above and other loading information.
Important scope boundary
Beam calculations are structural engineering design services. They do not include demolition sequencing, installation, temporary works, fabrication or site supervision unless separately agreed in writing.
